A moment of intimacy

By Sparky | February 27, 2008

A hand brushes my ear sending a shiver down my spine. Soft whispers grasp at my consciousness as a vibration begins, slowly and rhythmically moving about my head.

And then I snap out of it and realize I’m getting a haircut. Have I been single too long that this is the closest I’ve come to a truly intimate moment in as long as I can remember? I’m not sure if that’s progressively transhumanist, or just plain sad. In this day and age biology still holds sway over technology.

See, if we are all uploaded onto the internet, we can’t have moments like that… :)

Janet – This of all moments we WILL be able to have that are so much better than what we can experience now! Multi-instance life, virtual worlds to meet any whim, the world in the palm of your hand!

We’re too analog to even fit down the intertubes…

Sparky, you should go get some massages. They are wonderful for stress relief and will remind you that you are still (unfortunately?) human. If you go all Ghost-in-the-Shell on me I will be sad.

I want to be the ghost in the shell! Imagine all I could get done if I could multi-instantiate, and process information at the speed of a computer, rather than the speed of my eyes!
