There is another way for you to view your account. Just go to youtube mobile and from there you can view your favs, read and write comments and pretty much do anything with your account that you can do on the actual site. When you click on a video it just plays through the video player and goes right back to where you left off on the page. I have bookmarked it as an app so it shows up on the desktop. It does not play all the videos, but most of them, and since it is set up for mobile it loads up really quick. You can also play those few that dont work by using a site called video hamster which loads up flash based videos and plays them back in an iphone friendly format. Hope this helps.

Sadly logging in via a browser did nothing to 'log in' the iPhone's YouTube application. Since it is a full thick client experience I doubt if it's even aware of the browser, and much less its own browser heritage.

This might be a workaround for signing in to youtube with your google account.

First visit gmail and login to get your cookie, then paste this link into your browser:
http://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=youtube&continue=http://www.youtube.com/signup&passive=true

It worked for me.
