So it’s 3:00am and I can’t sleep because of a deadly concoction known as a Woodland Park Zoo that is served at Siam on Lake Union. It’s a massive drink with nearly every kind of liquor known to man. I’m actually shocked I was able to drink most of one with dinner.
Aside from trashed and insomniac I’m really happy with today. I got to see a lot of my friends and we all had fun watching 5 (yes count them, five!) Milla movies enjoying the crisp new frontal assault known as my speakers. I was pleased to see many of my friends having a chance to meet other friends - it’s nice to pull social groups together like that.
On that note I’m going to put down the powerbook and make another attempt at sleeping. That or go watch Pitch Black which I have been itching to see for a while.
I’m am proud to say that I’m now a year older, a year wiser, and a year closer to becoming immortal
I’m technically not 25 until Monday, but hell - the celebration starts today.
25 is such an interesting number. It can be expressed as 5^5, marks 25% of a century, marks what many would consider to be true adulthood, and in general is a fun word to say. Go ahead - say it: twenty-five. Say it again, luxuriate on the crisp start and sharp end of twenty. Feel the word five erupt from your mouth, like marching orders barked by a drill sergeant. Don’t you feel better now?
I’ve got a ton of people descending upon my place for food, fun, movies featuring my loving Milla, and perhaps a few noise complaints from my neighbors. Fun times should be had by all. OR ELSE!
Update: As my father has so well pointed out I meant 5×5, not 5^5. Minus 2 geek points for me!

A pair of Bowers and Wilkins 600 series DM602 S3’s and a LCR600 S3 paired with a Sony 34″ WEGA all powered by my Pioneer Elite VSX-82TSX and wired with Kimber Kable.
Could I be more obsessive about my media experience? I guess the next step is getting a larger TV, and adding soundproofing to my walls so I can crank those babies a bit louder.
It’s a day before my birthday party and I’m sick. Luckily I don’t think I’ll have to cancel it given that I’m feeling much better today than I was yesterday, but still - it’s kind of aggravating. I went to my doctor today and he is running some tests to see what’s been going on with me of late.
On a side note check out this screensaver for OS X. It makes all my windows fly around in a cyclone in 3D space. Very cool and flashy. Why can’t Vista do something like this with it’s whole DirectX windowing system and such?

You overclock your phone! I just found this overclock the TI OMAP 850 processor it uses. It’s normally a 200Mz processor that is set to 180Mz for normal operation. I use the application to overclock to 264Mz giving me about a 50% increase in total processor speed. This actually helps not only when opening and switching applications, but so far seems to make my Wizard a bit more stable. The best news of all this: it only drains my battery about 10% additionally – a small price to pay for having a much more responsive phone.
As a side note: I <3 my new B&W speakers!
I just got the call and my speakers have been delivered! I am ridiculously excited now (particularly since they are 2 days early), and now somehow the 2 hours until I can get off work and go pick them up just seems like an eternity. I’ll have some initial comments up soon, and hopefully a full review in the next week or so.
God I love gratification. Instant gratification is the best, but I’ll take what I can get!
I guess part of this whole growing up process is learning to wait. Here I was all excited about abandoning my dorm room furniture and A/V system for something a little bit more grown up, but again I’m shut down. First it was the speakers that were backordered, now it’s the couches.
At this rate I’ll have my living room together in a month. A long month of waiting. Waiting and waiting and waiting. Did I mention how bad I am at waiting?
At least I had fun this weekend (aside from the heat). On Sunday I went out with Bre and Jake to do a little aerial photography with a robotic kite rig. I’ll have some pictures posted in a few days so watch this space!
