Falling sand

This falling sand simulation I just found on the web is genius! It’s a simple Java app written to explore some particle physics and various properties of different kinds of “virtual sand”. It’s rather hard to explain - just check the link out next time you are prepared to check out of life for an hour or two. It’s simple, hypnotic, and fun to explore.
